What Does the iCon Do?

The iCon System is a domestic & commercial energy management system that can manage single or multiple energy sources, such as boilers, geothermal pumps, and solar panels, through to multiple energy exchangers, such as underfloor heating, radiators and domestic hot water in a single package.

What makes the iCon control system different to other “Intelligent” control systems?

The main difference is the iCon's ability to be uniquely configured for each project. What this means is that before any iCon system is delivered, it gets programmed to exactly match the requirements of the building it is going into. “As fitted” 1st and 2nd fix drawings are supplied for every project eliminating costly wiring errors. Commissioning work is minimal as the system is already programmed. This is something that you would normally only see on expensive commercial boiler management systems but Optimum can now deliver this into the domestic and commercial underfloor heating markets at a fraction of the normal cost... read what our happy customers say.

As the iCon is completely configurable we can programme it to control simple or complex scenarios. In an age of fuel conservation, many projects we are involved in are becoming more complex, for example: A ground source heat pump with solar panels linked with a solid fuel stove and a back-up conventional boiler. Linking all these heat sources together is difficult especially if you want to ensure the cheapest heat source is used first. The iCon will manage and integrate this and many other scenarios effortlessly. All you have to do is tell us what you want to include and Optimum will deliver the integrated control solution.

The iCon system is obviously more expensive than a basic control system but has a very quick pay-back time through savings in running costs. Remember the biggest cost of any heating system is its cumulative running costs.
